ACTOR SHEHAAN DIXIT ARRIVES IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY:

Yet another talented actor 'Shehaan Dixit' embarks on his journey in Bollywood and entertainment industry. Last night saw a number of renowned guests including actors, singers, designers, entrepreneurs, politician and well-wishers alike who were present for the new actor Shehaan's launch announcement hosted by his father, Mr. Satish Dixit at a popular suburban venue. Amidst much fanfare, Shehaan Dixit was introduced in front of the media. He was overwhelmed with all the love and blessings of his supporters and thanked everyone for their faith in his acting abilities and genuine encouragement.For the past few months Shehaan has been dedicatedly grooming and prepping himself in various aspects for his advent in Bollywood. He is currently in the process of reading scripts and will soon announce his debut project. “लव Mumbai” unveiled as a permanent installation in Bandra, Mumbai

Asian Paints and St+art humbled for the support extended by Mumbaikars

Mumbai, March 2016: Public art unites people to cities and creates a sense of belonging. Asian Paints and St+art India Foundation joined hands to create Mumbai’s first-of-its-kind public art with a unique, life-size typographic installation that reads “लव Mumbai”. Unlike traditional public art structures that have statues or abstract sculptures,“लव Mumbai” has a ‘heart’ symbol creatively laced within the Devanagari script, possessing a universal, modern-day appeal. The installation unveiled in Bandra Reclamation stands tall, giving Mumbai a whole new landmark and people the world over, a unique connect with this city that never sleeps.

The installation originally created for Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda Festival fetched mass appreciation and gave rise to the pledge from Mumbaikars to make it a permanent part of the city. Asian Paints and St+art India Foundation is grateful to MSRDC for offering a premium and panoramic location near Bandra -Worli Sea Link for setting up the magnanimous “लव Mumbai”structure. Also DB Realty helped build this dream installation in to a reality. The larger than life structure was unveiled today at Bandra Reclamation, in the presence of Mrs. Snehal Ambekar-Honourable Mayor of Mumbai, Mr. Eknath Shinde, Honourable Minister- MSRDC,  Aditya Thackeray - Head of Yuva Sen and dignitaries from Asian Paints and St+art.

Speaking at the unveiling, Amit Syngle, President-Sales, Marketing & Technology, Asian Paints Ltd said, “At Asian Paints, we have always believed that Art wins hearts. “लव Mumbai”, is a testimony to our belief. Along with St+art Foundation, we worked towards making “लव Mumbai” an indelible part of Mumbai’s future and here it is, standing tall at Mumbai’s most loved suburb. We would particularly like to thank MSRDC and DB Realty for their support in making this iconic structure permanent.”

Hanif Kureshi Co-Founder of St+art India Foundation said, “When it comes to public art, we have been seeing more of figurative or abstract sculptures, but there aren't any 'typographical' sculptures. “लव Mumbai” is new way to celebrate urban pride in a form of vernacular typography sculpture. We hope that eventually “लव Mumbai” will become the symbol of the city.”

Designed by artist Hitesh Malaviya in collaboration with Hanif Kureshi, “लव Mumbai” incorporates a red-coloured ‘heart’, sitting with poise on a white base that reads ‘Mumbai’. This powerful icon cuts across all demographics and language barriers. The representation of love (लव) in Devanagari adds a multi-lingual appeal and imbibes elements from the modern day Hinglish speaking generation and popular culture. From the roadside Romeo to Milton Glaser (the designer of 'I heart NY' logo), heart symbol is a timeless and universal expression of the deep love that resides in the hearts of a city’s residents. With “लव Mumbai”, this expression has made its way in to an Indian city for the first time. The dimensions of “लव Mumbai” installation stand at 20 ft in length, 7 ft in height, 1.5 ft in depth and few miles long in impact the world over.

Renowned Illustrator from Mumbai, Sameer Kulavoor has been roped in to create more illustrations of the people of Mumbai on the sculpture in times to come.

Revealed: Akshay Kumar’s deadly look in ‘Enthiran 2’

The makers of ‘Enthiran 2’ have unveiled the first look of Akshay Kumar, who is playing a deadly and dangerous villain Dr Richard. Akshay is totally unrecognized in the picture. The 48-year-old actor will play an antagonist opposite superstar Rajinikanth.

Akshay dons a black feathery costume with a grey hairdo, red eyes and grey eye bushes.

In the sequel, Akshay is playing Dr Richard, who is reportedly a scientist but also turns into a crow.

Happy Birthday Kangana! The ‘Queen’ & her controversial affairs

It is Bollywood ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut’s birthday on Wednesday. Kangana is an outspoken and bold girl from a small town of Himachal Pradesh who has made it big in Bollywood. She made a smashing debut with ‘Gangster’ in 2006 and bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She wowed the audience as well as critics with her performance in films like ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Life in a... Metro’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu And Manu Weds Returns’. She has in her kitty several awards including two National Film Awards. Kangana will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s musical ‘Rangoon’ which is slated to release in September. 

While Kangana’s career is on a high, her personal life is far from perfect. She is currently embroiled in a legal mess with her alleged former lover Hrithik Roshan. During her initial days in the industry, Kangana was involved with actor Aditya Pancholi who was double her age. In an interview in 2008, Aditya too admitted that he had been cohabiting with Kangana.

However, after going steady for a while, the two ended their relationship amicably. But, according to reports, Adhyayan’s father veteran actor Shekhar Suman was not very pleased with his son dating Kangana as he wanted his son to focus on his career.

Kangana once again got involved with a married man when she fell for Ajay Devgn while shooting for ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’. They got along well on the sets and, as per reports it was a casual love affair with no strings attached. But trouble started when Kangana got emotionally involved with Ajay who then broke off the relationship. Ajay had no intention of leaving his wife Kajol. In fact, a popular film magazine did an elaborate piece on Kangana and Ajay’s affair and how it ended. Kangana too later, in an interview admitted that it was a mistake on her part to get involved with a married man.

Kangana also had a relationship with UK-based doctor and scientist, Nicholas Lafferty whom she met through a friend. Nicholas came to Mumbai to meet Kangana on several occasion and the two were spotted together at various events. But, their long distant relationship did not last very long. Reportedly, Nicholas wanted to get married and settle down, but Kangana wanted to concentrate on her career. Kangana admitted about her affair with Nicholas on Simi Garewal’s show ‘India’s Most Desirable’.

There were also rumours that Kangana was dating Tamil star Jayram Ravi, her co-star in Tamil romantic thriller ‘Dhaam Dhoom’. They developed a strong bond while shooting for the film. Reports claimed that they were more than friends and their friendship culminated into a relationship. In fact Jayam often visited Mumbai to spend some quality time with Kangana. However, both Kangana and Jayram rubbished the reports and stated that they were just good friends.

Brussels suicide attack: Singer Abhijeet’s wife and son safe

Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet’s wife Sumati Bhattacharya and son were in Brussels at the time of the suicide attack. They are stranded in Brussels when series of explosions took place at Brussels airport and a city metro station, killing over 20 people yesterday morning but by God’s blessings the singer's family is safe.

The singer posted on Twitter that his family is safe.

Abhijeet shared that his wife and son have been evacuated and are in a safe zone now. He wrote, “#Brussels jst spoke to my wife n son at #BrusselsAirport..They r bn evacuated to a safe zone God is great.. Thx @jetairways.”

The singer's family was on board a New York bound Jet Airways flight, which had a stop over in Brussels.

"My wife and son are safe but stranded in Brussels. Initially they were not guided where to go and what to do. Then by the time a third announcement was made, they were evacuated and taken to ..

"They stood there at the tarmac for nearly three hours with no food, just a glass of water. It was pretty cold there and they didn't even have their warm clothes with them as it was in the luggage. They were then taken to a refuge camp and now have been asked to evacuate even that," he said.

"There are no taxis, no transport available. One train has been allocated which will take them to a city which is 20-min away," he added.

Post the incident, Jet Airways wrote that they are constantly working on the safety of their guests and the staff. Abhijeet thanked them.

Abhijeet also tried to contact the Indian Embassy.

Brussels suicide attack at the airport on Tuesday morning killed at least 21 people and left several injured, Belgian news agency Belga informed that a third explosion was reported at Maelbeek metro station in central Brussels, close to EU institutions. More bombs have been found at the airport.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has confirmed that there were no Indians among the casualties.

Jackie Chan to dance to Farah Khan’s tunes

international star Jackie Chan will be dancing to a grand Bollywood item number to be choreographed by Farah Khan. The song will feature in Indo-Chinese joint venture ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ being directed by Stanley Tong.

According to a report in a leading daily, Jackie will be flying down to India later this week for the fortnight-long schedule. The shooting for the song will begin next week and will be shot at The Jodhpur Palace in Rajasthan. Parts of the song will also be shot in China and some other countries.

It will be a lavish Hindi-English song and will have Indian dancers flown to China and wherever else the shooting would be held.

Sonu Sood, who plays the lead in the film with Jackie, persuaded the makers to incorporate a Bollywood-style sequence in the movie. He then approached his good friend Farah and got her on board to choreograph the song, the report stated.

Quoting a source, the report further said that Jackie and Sonu will be shaking a leg to Farah’s trademark dance moves along with about 150 dancers. Actresses Amyra Dastur and Disha Patani will also feature in the dance track.

Jackie will don an Indian look with a bright red kurta, green mojris and a dhol around his neck. Jackie will also be singing the number in English and Hindi. After shooting in Jodhpur, they will fly to Beijing for the next part of the song, the reported added.

Farah has previously choreographed for a Chinese film in 2005 for the musical ‘Perhaps Love’.

Kangana cried on Aamir’s shoulder post break-up with Hrithik

The alleged affair of Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan is out in the open and has taken an ugly turn with both the actors filing lawsuits against each other. The ‘Queen’ actress refused to comply with Hrithik’s demand for public apology and is countering his allegations bravely. But Kangana had been through a tough time when her relationship ended with the ‘Bang Bang’ actor.

According to a report on SpotboyE, Kangana felt very lonely and was heart-broken after her split with Hrithik. She didn’t have many friends in the industry with whom she could share her sorrow. Kangana was working on her film ‘Katti Batti’ opposite Imran Khan at that time, and it was Imran’s uncle Aamir Khan who lent his shoulders to Kangana.

A month before the movie’s release, Kangana met Aamir and confided to the superstar about her break-up with Hrithik.  She reportedly broke down before him and Aamir too stood by her throughout her tumultuous times.

Aamir advised Kangana to keep away from Hrithik and move on. The ‘PK’ actor was genuinely concerned about her and at one of the special screenings of ‘Katti Batti’, he even asked Kangana’s sister Rangoli to be by her side, the report stated.

Kangana and Hrithik were rumoured to be dating each other during their 2013 movie ‘Krrish 3’. Their relationship was said to be a reason for Hrithik’s divorce with Sussanne Khan.

Hrithik and Kangana’s tiff started when Kangana in an interview in January regarding her ousting from a film, hinted at Hrithik and called him ‘silly ex’. Soon after, Hrithik made a cryptic tweet that there were more chances of him having had an affair with the Pope than any actress.

After that, Kangana in another interview with a news channel asked Hrithik not to “slyly pursue people and spy on them, and chase them.”

Shraddha Kapoor would love to work with Sanjay Dutt

Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who was reported to have been roped in for a film opposite Sanjay Dutt, has refuted the reports as rumours. Shraddha and Sanjay were reported to be starring together in a film about an unusual love story between a middle-aged man and a young girl.

The ‘Ashiqui 2’ girl said that she hasn’t been offered any film with the ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ actor, but added that she would love to work with him.

"I have not been offered any film opposite Sanjay Dutt but I totally admire him and would love to work with him in the future,” Shraddha told IANS.

Meanwhile, Sharaddha has begun shooting for her upcoming film ‘OK Jaanu’ opposite her ‘Ashiqui 2’ co-star Aditya Roy Kapur. The duo will be sharing screen space after a gap of three years.

Speaking about the project, Shraddha said, “It's great that we will be working together yet again and I hope that we will be accepted again with this film. I have seen the Tamil version of 'Ok Jaanu' and I completely loved that film. It's an unusual love story.”

‘OK Jaanu’ is the official remake of Mani Ratnam’s 2015 Tamil blockbuster ‘O Kadal Kanmami’. The film was a fresh take on modern day relationships and portrayed a couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai.

The Hindi version of the romantic drama is being produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shaad Ali. 

Rani, Aditya heading to Paris with daughter Adira

Rani Mukherji, who is confirmed to house post the birth of her first child, Adira, will be heading to Paris with husband and YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra and their three months old, Adira. Aditya’s next directional venture ‘Befikre’ starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor will hit the floor this month in Paris and the filmmaker will fly off to Paris with his wife and daughter.

Little Adira got her passport and she is ready to fly with her parents. Rani, who is celebrating her 38th birthday today, gears up to ring in her birthday with Aditya and daughter Adira in Paris.

The new mommy was spotted first time post delivery at Karan Johar’s mother Hiroo Johar’s birthday.

Like Aishwarya, Rani also gained post baby flab. Rani, who was last seen in ‘Mardaani’ is embracing motherhood to the fullest. She has confined herself to the house for her newly born.

No One Killed Jessica:

Based on the real-life murder of model Jessica Lal, Rani played the role of a feisty, determined and bold news reporter Meera Gaity, who uses cuss words and abuses openly. She helps the victim’s sister, played by Vidya Balan get justice in 2011 biographical film bt Rajkumar Gupta. Rani earned rave reviews for her portrayal of the character and bagged the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2005 film ‘Black’ saw Rani play the role of Michelle McNally, blind, mute and deaf girl. She played the nuances of her character so well that her fans, audience as well as critics were blown over by her. The film revolved around her day-to-day struggle and her relationship with her teacher, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Rani received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Critics’ Choice.

Hum Tum:

In Kunal Kohli’s ‘Hum Tum’, Rani played the role of fiesty and fun-loving Rhea Prakash who keeps bumping into the wanderlust and flirtatious Karan Kapoor, played by Saif Ali Khan. The effervescent girl becomes quiet and gloomy when she becomes a widow in the film, and Rani portrayed both her sides convincingly. The movie won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

Saathiya:  

Rani played the role of Suhani Sharma opposite Vivek Oberoi in the romantic drama ‘Saathiya’. Directed by Shaad Ali, ‘Saathiya’ was a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Alaipayuthey’.  The story revolved around a couple passionately in love with each other, who get married and elope to be together. Rani was charming and vibrant throughout her screen time which earned her accolades from critics and audience. She bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Critics’ Choice for her performance in the movie.

Big B was not paid, even bought his own tickets for India-Pakistan match

Rubbishing the rumour that megastar Amitabh Bachchancharged 4 crores for singing National Anthem at the India-Pakistan match held in Eden Gardens on Saturday, former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly said, "Mr Bachchan is one and only, a special person. I am eternally grateful to him."

Further speaking to a leading Bengal daily, Saurav said, "Can you ever imagine someone paying Rs 30 lakhs of his own pocket to perform? He booked his own flight, bought his own tickets and even paid the hotel bills. I literally begged him to take some money but he said that I am doing it for love and there is no question of money being involved".

Amitabh's rendition of Jana Gana Mana captivated every Indian and many fans from across the globe even took to Twitter and Facebook to appreciate Amitabh for singing the national anthem.

Amitabh Bachchan sung ‘Jana Gana Mana’ with full patriotic feeing before the match kick-start. Present on the occasion was Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Saurav Gangular, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and many others.

In the nail-biting match, India beat Pakistan at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Kareena, Karisma, Salman, Shilpa back from Dubai

The Kapoor sisters, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor are back home from Dubai after attending TOIFA.  The sister duo was dressed in black. Salman Khan, who enthralled the audience with his electrifying performance at TOIFA in Dubai, also returned home. He was spotted at the Mumbai airport.

Parineeti Chopra, who hosted the award show in Dubai, was spotted in white top and blue jeans. She was talking on phone while making her way out of the airport.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra was also spotted at Mumbai airport carrying a yellow bag on her left shoulder with a beautiful yellow and grey coloured scarf around her neck.

Preity Zinta shares first picture with hubby post marriage

Preity Zinta celebrates India’s victory over Pakistani at T20 World Cup with husband Gene Goodenough in LA. Preity, who has so far kept her wedding pictures concealed for some noble cause has shared first picture with hubby post marriage. She was seen playing with colours with Gene after India beat Pakistan.  

Preity Zinta is a cricket buff and she also owns IPL team with her ex-flame Ness Wadia. She is always associated with cricket and so India’s victory is a matter of pride and enjoyment for the new bride and above all she is an Indian and like every India she too celebrated India’s win no matter in which part of the world she is. The actress shared a picture on her social networking site which shows her splashing colours on one another. The couple was joined by their friends.

In another picture, Preity is also seen wearing ‘Choora’ which every new bride wears for few weeks after marriage. Sharing the picture she wrote, "The only thing new about marriage is having to wear a #Choora for a couple of days."

Preity Zinta tied the knot with boyfriend Gene Goodenough in a private ceremony in Los Angeles on February 29. The couple was in a relationship for the past 18 months before marriage.

Good friends Sussanne Khan and designer Surily Goel attended Preity Zinta’s wedding in LA.

Preity will throw a grand reception in April, in Mumbai for her Bollywood friends.

‘Kapoor & Sons’ collects 6.85 cr on the opening day

Kapoor & Sons’ released on Friday opened with mixed reviews. The film earned Rs 6.85 crore on the opening day at the box office.

Directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Karan Johar, 'Kapoor & Sons' is a story of two brothers from a rather dysfunctional family. They both befriend the same girl, and things get a little messy when jealousy creeps in. The film plays out over a weekend vacation the family takes together.

‘Kapoor & Sons’ despite having prominent faces could only registered an opening day occupancy of 15-20%. Night shows registered as much as 35%-50% occupancy. It was expected that the film would open big at the box-office since there were no big releases for the past couple of weeks but audience did not show much interest on it. The film is expected to perform well in big cities, multiplexes than single theatres.

The film is likely to perform well in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan considering the highest number of screens.

The performance of Alia, Fawad and Sidharth was appreciated by the audience. As expected the film could not perform well in the opening day but with Holi round the corner, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ is expected to gown in coming days.

Randeep Hooda becomes ‘modern maharaja’ for designer Rohit Kamra

Bollywood actor Randeep Hoodawho was a model before entering films, was back on the ramp on Friday. He walked as the showstopper for designer Rohit Kamra at the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Autumn-Winter 2016.

He brought a regal wave on the ramp as a ‘modern maharaja’ for the first menswear show of fashion gala, according to an IANS report. He looked smart in a white jacket teamed with brown trousers."I don't feel like a maharaja all the time but when I wear these clothes I do. He (Kamra) has done a great job bringing old world charm with modern touches to his collection. It was a great show," Randeep said.

The ‘Main Aur Charles’ actor also revealed that he might launch a fashion line in future, but for now he is finding his "own footing in style".

“I think I am still finding my own footing in my style. As I am associated with horses, so that takes a lot of my time. Let us see... that (fashion line) might be on the cards but I don't want to be pompous and say 'Hey, follow my style'," Randeep said.

The collection was inspired by rich history of India and its princely rulers with Jaypore influences. It was a mix of tradition and modernity in the form of sherwanis with trench coats, bandhgala jackets, trousers, Jodhpur jackets and breeches, as well as waistcoats and Nehru jackets.

Fabrics like flannel, wool, wool khadi, silk and cotton were used in hues of black, white, grey, blue, green. The show was presented collectively by three designers - Kamra, Ujjawal Dubey and Divyam Mehta. Randeep will be next seen in Omung Kumar’s biopic ‘Sarabjit’ which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The movie is set to hit screens on May 20.  

Deepika spends time with ex-flame Ranbir at his terrace

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone who was out of country shooting for her maiden Hollywood venture ‘xXx: The Returns of Xander Cage’, seems to be back in India.The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress returned yesterday, and has come to attend a friend’s wedding in neighbouring Sri Lanka. 

According to a report in Times of India, Deepika made a stop-over at ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s house in Bandra during her one day stay in India. The former lovers reportedly went up to the terrace and chatted for a long time Ranbir and Deepika turned good friends post their break-up and are very much fond of each other. The ‘Rockstar’ actor reportedly parted ways with his long time girlfriend Katrina Kaif some time back is nursing a broken heart. Apparently, Ranbir is trying to find solace in the arms of his ex-flame, and good friend Deepika is also there for him.

Interestingly, Katrina too has been spotted with her former lover Salman Khan post her split with the Kapoor scion. There were also reports that the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor was also helping Katrina find a new house for herself.

Meanwhile, Katrina and Ranbir are yet to complete the shooting for Anurag Basu’s much delayed project ‘Jagga Jasoos’, which they started when they were very much in love. The dou has been reportedly, maintaining a strictly professional relation and avoiding each other as much as possible.

Kareena Kapoor Khan looks every inch a diva in a Marsala tone one-shoulder, half-cape gown at the TOIFA night in Dubai on 18th March. Kareena Kapoor looked utterly gorgeous in a Monisha Jaising dress as she walked the red carpet. With no-make up and loosely-tied hair, Bebo looked serene.

Kareena was undoubtedly one of the best-dressed actresses on the red carpet at TOIFA 2016. She enhanced her beauty with Nirav Modi jewels.

Parineeti Chopra was also one of the best dressed actresses on the TOIFA red carpet. She rocked in a blue Georges Chakra gown with a silver spread. Karishma Tanna opted for Faraz Manan gown. ‘The Jungle Book’ Hindi trailer: It’s Priyanka Chopra throughout

The Hindi dubbed version of much-awaited live-action adventure movie ‘The Jungle Book’ is out with its trailer. The trailer opens with Mowgli, the man-cub raised by a family of wolves in the jungle, in an encounter sly python Kaa.

Indian-American Neel Sethi plays the role of Mowgli, while Bollywood’s international actress Priyanka Chopra lends her voice to Kaa’s character. She replaces Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson from the original version.

The one-and-half-minute further shows running for his life in the deep woods from Sher Khan, the tiger. He meets the monkey, King Louie and his friends Baloo, the bear, and the panther Bagheera. But it is Priyanka’s intriguing voice as that is heard throughout the trailer video. The ‘Jai Gangaajal’ actress has nailed it giving a sultry-cum-menacing touch to her character.

Besides, Priyanka, other Bollywood stars have also lent their vocals to the other characters, but they cannot be heard as yet in the trailer. Perhaps, one has to wait till the movie releases to hear Irrfan Khan as Baloo, Om Purias Bagheera, Shefali Shah as the wolf Raksha, Nana Patekar as Shere Khan and Bugs Bhargava in King Louie’s voice.

An excited Priyanka shared the Hindi trailer of ‘The Jungle Book’ on Twitter and wrote, "@TheJungleBook was one of my favourite parts of my childhood & now I get to be in it as the voice of Kaa! Wooopiee."

Directed by Jon Favreau, ‘The Jungle Book’ is a big screen adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous novel. Produced by Disney, the film is slated to release worldwide on April 8.
