Gauri Khan’s father Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chibber passed away on March 1, 2016. He was not keeping well for quite sometime and was admitted at Delhi's Escorts hospital. Gauri was by her father's side when he breathed his last.
Gauri, who was still grieving the demise of her father posted a picture of her father with her mother Savita.
Cancelling his shoots mid-way, Shahrukh Khan headed for the capital as soon as he heard the news about the demise of his father-in-law.
Originally hailing from Patti village, Colonel Ramesh Chander Chhibber migrated to Delhi from Hoshiarpur district in 1970. Chibber was married to Savita Chibber and the couple has two children, Gauri, who is married to Shah Rukh and a son Vikrant.
Family and friends of Gauri and Shah Rukh have expressed their condolences. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is a close friend of the couple, posted a message on Twitter, “Death is the only reminder of Life....”
Actor cum producer Sachin Joshi, senior journalist Rajat Sharma, Shivani Pasrich, politician and chairman of Indian Premier League Rajeev Shukla, filmmaker Karan Johar attended he funeral at Lodhi Road crematorium in Delhi.
