Mumbai, January 28, 2016: Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated TV Journalist Association (TVJA) New Year Calendar 2016, recently at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Mr. Swadhin Kshatriya, TVJA- President Mr. Vilas Athavale, TVJA-General Secretary Mr. Mayur Parikh and the whole TVJA committee members.
“We understand that journalists' need more freedom in sync with changing times and hence we will evaluate and accept genuine demands. However, there is need of an hour that journalists should show more alertness about how they cover important issues. They shouldn't indulge in mindless criticism of government on petty issues.” Fadnavis said in a brief speech.
TVJA has handed over cheque of Rs.25, 000/- to Chief Minister in the name of Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan for drought-affected farmers in Maharashtra.
During this function, TVJA has also expressed their concern about security and demanded some necessary facilities for TV journalists and video journalists.
