Madhuri Court has summoned superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Lingaa’ script stealing case. Plaintiff Ravi Rathinam alleged that ‘Lingaa’ was his story and was stolen by the team of ‘Lingaa’. The Additional District Munsiff Court Judge directed KR Ravirathinam (plaintiff), film producer Rockline Venkatesh, B Ponkumar, Director KS Ravikumar and the General Secretary of South Indian Film Writers Association to appear before the court tomorrow.
The Judge said that he is following the order of Madras High Court which had directed him last month to complete the trial in the case within April 30 next and hence asked all of them them to appear before his court on Tuesday. Justice VM Velumani of the high court had directed the Munsiff court to conclude the case within April 30.
Following the request of the plaintiff, the case was transferred to the Madurai Court. In December 2014, producer Rockline Venkatesh was ordered to deposit Rs.5 crore by demand draft and an additional Rs.5 crore as guarantee before the release of the film. The script for ‘Lingaa’ was penned by Ponkumaran.
Rajinikanth will be next seen in ‘Kabali’ starring Radhika Apte in female lead. The movie is slated to release in May
