The makers of upcoming film ‘Kapoor & Sons’ have released a third song ‘Buddhu Sa Mann’. It is a feel-good song and the on-screen family is seen partying in the video of the song.
It is the birthday of Dadu, played by veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. His family including son Rajat Kapoor, daughter-in-law and Ratna Pathak, grandsons Siddharth Malhotraand Fawad Khan and their love interest Alia Bhattcelebrate the day.
The song has been spiritedly sung by brothers Amaal Malik and Armaan Malik. The music has been composed by Amaal Mallik while lyrics are penned by Abhiruchi Chand.
There is also a life-size cut-out of former actress Mandakni in a white saree from her form 1985 ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ which was incidentally directed by Rishi Kapoor’s father late Raj Kapoor.
Speaking about the song, the film’s director Shakun Batra said, “The song takes place on his (Dadu’s) 90th birthday. Sidharth and Fawad who play the grandsons know that their Dadu is an ardent fan of Mandakini and can think of no better gift than a cut out of the actress.”
The director also revealed that the people in the video are not junior artistes, but families who actually live there. “They happily agreed to be part of the song. We played loud music, and let people drink and enjoy. The movie is shot in Coonoor so the people in this song are all the people who live there,” he added.
‘Kapoor & Sons’ is about a dysfunctional family whose members are always at loggerheads with each other. The family patriarch wants to see his entire family together before he dies.
Produced by Karan Johar, the romantic-comedy hits cinemas on March 18.
