Box-office: Opening day collection of ‘Jai Gangaajal’

Prakash Jha’s Friday release ‘Jai Gangaajal’ starring Priyanka Chopra in the pivotal role failed to spark magic at the box-office. The film fell flat at the domestic box-office with audience showing very least interest on the film. The plot of the story which revolves around politics and corruption has not at all interest the audience. Moreover, the leading actress Priyanka Chopra’s less involvement in the film’s promotion has spoiled the film’s opening day business.

According to the latest box-office report, the film has registered an opening day collection of only 10%. The film also suffered a lot for ‘the ast week release Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Neerja’. ‘Neerja’ is still running successful in many theatres of India and it hampered the collection of ‘Jai Gangaajal’.

‘Jai Gangaajal’ only caters the interest of a particular class. Devoid of songs and seriousness of the plot did not impress the audience. Priyanka Chopra as a cop fighting the baddie got lots of clap but the film over all is an opening day disaster.
