Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’ won most of the technical awards at the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA). Designer Anju Modi won award for her elaborate, lavish costumes for the periodic drama while the film also won awards for best art direction and cinematography.
Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ won the best story award and it was collected by the female lead of the movie, Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’ bagged award for best screenplay by Juhi Chaturvedi. Irrfan Khan-starrer ‘Talvar’, based on Aarushi’s murder case, received the best editing honour.
Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ took home the trophy for best dialogue.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Manish Paul and Huma Qureshi, who displayed great camaraderie.
Remo D'Souza'a ‘ABCD 2’ bagged award for the best choreography. The evening was entertained by Ranveer Singh by his impromptu stage jigs. He made a surprise entry on the stage and did a small recreation of Priyanka and Deepika's signature moves from song ‘Pinga’ from ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
Sooraj Pancholi and Zarine Khan dazzled as showstoppers for Mumbai-based designers Riyaz and Reshma Gangji of Libas.
Kareena cheered for her elder sister Karisma Kapoor who walked the ramp for designer Farhaz Manan. Kartik Aryan, Gautam Gulati, Shweta Pandit, Chunky Pandey were present among others.
The main awards ceremony will be held tonight at Dubai International cricket stadium.
