Kaivalyadhama Yoga institute’s ‘International Yoga Conference – Yoga & Education "Principles and Practice’ inaugurated

Lonavala 27th Dec. 2015: Kaivalyadhama Yoga institute’s ‘International yoga conference – Yoga & Education to be held from 27 - 30 December 2015 in Lonavala was inaugurated by Minister of AYUSH - Shri. Shripad Naik. Swami Adhyatmanandaji is the keynote speaker. Dr. S. C. Khuntia, IAS – Secretary Secondary Education and Literary in Govt. of India, is the Guest of Honor with Justice B. N. Srikrishna presiding over the function. Swami Maheshananda and Mr. O. P. Tiwari also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the same, Mr. Subodh Tiwari, Organizing Secretary of the conference said, “At Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute our ultimate goal is to see yoga as an inherent part of every curriculum all over the world. We are very happy with the support of both the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra in our endeavor.”
The conference is one of the few international events that dwell on the profound need to integrate yoga into educational systems, in order to help them create populations of students who are more empathetic, self-confident and mindful of themselves and one another. There are around 700 national delegates from 15 states. 12 countries are represented in the conference.
The international conference has official non-financial support from the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. It is an effort of the department to give an opportunity to the teachers / educationists to upgrade their knowledge of Yoga and deliberate on the topic. The Department of Medical Education and Research, which supervises the Department of AYUSH has also issued a Government Resolution to encourage the stake holder to attend the conference.
Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute’s ‘International Yoga Conference - Yoga & Education’ will see illustrious names from the various fields of yoga come together to discuss and explore practical and realistic methods to incorporate yoga as an integral agenda of educators. Some of the eminent internationalnames at the Conference are Dr. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D., Asst. Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Micheline Flak, France, Göran Boll, Swedish yoga teacher/therapist and Founder of Medi Yoga, Ms. Jyoti Bajaj , Director of The Yoga Kids, Canada, Mr. Philip Connor, Australia amongst others.
The presence of policy makers and authorities in the arena of education in India like Dr. Dhanraj Mane, Director of Higher Education GofM, Dr. Santosh Panda , Chairman, NCTE, Prof. (Dr.) W. N.
